Expanding the Inner and outer space.

Workshops taught through DRUNA info here https://www.druna.cz/seminare/

Feldenkrais Method® weekend

Inner space is largely about the opening of possibilities. As these possibilities expand our inner space we feel less stuck, less stiff, less constrained. We feel more comfortable and free in our selves.  This inner freedom is intimately tied to how we move through the space outside ourselves. How we orient, reach, turn, see and connect to the earth with its gravity and its support.

This theme will give us a focus in our explorations of the Feldenkrais Method®. We work with rewiring the foundations of our movements and postures. One of the goals is to create new possibilities at a very deep level.  Often when we do “new” things we actually use our old deep habits and rely on them as we do the “new thing.” Often our deeper limitations , patterns of discomfort, and “weak spots” are not addressed. Using a studied gentleness, the Feldenkrais Method® gets at the deep stuff.  We will touch the places where movement just begins, where postures begin to take form and where the inner world begins to co-create the outer world.

Somatic Wisdom

An emersion into somatic bodywork, authentic movement and the Feldenkrais Method.

This workshop will draw us closer to ourselves as we develop our capacity to sense and move another human being. We will practice bodywork filled with curiosity and develop a somatic wisdom to share with others.

Curiosity leads into somatic integration.  We touch in detail. We come with our wealth of somatic wisdom. Not yet knowing, we discover.  Sensations of contact, of differences, of connections, of movements, of happening, of potentials.  The curiosity shared by exploring the other leads to an elaboration of self.  When we touch the others arm-shoulder-hand-ribs-spine-head-pelvis-leg-foot ßà this information flows back into our soma.

The senses of touching, moving and seeing mix together into a more whole perception of the other. A more whole perception of self. We witness moving.  Each of us, a unique center of experience in a shared world. We witness as moving.  Our moving is our witnessing.  Curiosity circulates through time, between people, though the morphing space. As the movement flows our somatic wisdom grows.

Side by side. We take the time to rediscover ourselves. We spread out along the floor and take the gravity off of our heads. With gentleness and creativity we go through A precise series of explorations. Our root patterns of movement become more clear and more diverse. The gentleness accompanies us as we come to our feet and move lightly, with curious precision into the unknown.

Manipulation up to the sky: Contact Improvisation

Bodywork According to Moshe Feldenkrais, MASSAGE TRAINING, 24 – 28 February 2020, Orlice Mountain CZECH

Five days of intensive classes of the Feldenkrais Method in the field of bodywork and massage. Application of knowledge, skills and insights of the Feldenkrais Method into your therapeutic work. The Feldenkrais Method has genuinely sophisticated approach to bodywork through touches. It is based on specific findings on how to use touch to pass on information and as a means of communication. This training is an outstanding opportunity to acquire new information.

Bodywork in the Feldenkrais Method is very thoroughly worked-out, it is a method of its own. The Feldenkrais Method offers particular insights on using touch as a means of communication that effects underlying patterns of movement, posture, limitation, stress and efficiency. Functional Integration, the bodywork aspect of the Feldenkrais Method, is its own in depth method that takes years to learn. However, many of its underlying principles and skills can substantially enrich other Massage Practices and can form the basis of a unique style of massage.

During this week we will focus on three areas:

  • the power of reducing effort
  • integrative skeletal contact
  • mobilization as holistic re-learning

These content areas transform a massage session into a dialog with the aspects of a receiver which organize tonus, movement and self perception. The result is a deep somatic experience of transformation.

During the training you will learn several skills which will enhance your bodywork to a new level. We will also pursue somatic needs of the practitioner. Using Body Awareness techniques you will find out how to spare energy during sessions. Moreover, you will learn how to work in such a way that prevents from harms that are often found in massage profesisions.

Healing What is Beyond Control. Feldenkrais 22 – 23 February 2020, PRAGUE

Workshop of healing the posture through the Feldenkrais Method and Awareness Through Movement approach. Our posture plays a crucial role in the correct functioning of physiological processes in our body. In large extent it affects the way different parts of the body are being burdened and worn-out. Indisputable effect of the posture can be seen on the psyche, the way we deal with situations, enjoy our days and feel happy in our life. During this workshop you will teach your body to find new posture habits in such a way that it understands it a is open to it.

There are two main pitfalls when we try to correct our posture ourselves. The first one being the fact that although you feel the pain or limitation very clearly at some specific place, the cause of this is in most cases in a completely different part of the body. If we feel the pain in the back for instance, only very rarely the stretching will help us, eventhough we intuitively do that. Such additional burden for the affected part can even worsen the situation. The second pitfall is a belief that we can impose the movement habits to the body by force. Such an approach only brings new limitations to already limited motoric system. The only possible solution is using the holistic approach which can communicate with the body and restore healthy habits in each part of the body.

Using Feldenkrais Method you will be able to enhance movement of your limbs, hips, body, neck and head subtly. You will restore healthy movement habits in all parts of the body which are key to healhy posture. Such posture will give you painless feeling of motion freedom. Posture that will give you support in you daily living. During the workshop you will experience joy of newly discovered somatic feelings of freedom and lightness and you will find out that already learning process itself can be a deliberating experience that you will wish to get more and more.

Feldenkrais ATM Workshop- Magic Circles, 26 – 27 January 2019, PRAGUE

Circles allows us to explore beyond dichotomies of left and right, forward and backward, up and down—moving us into the graceful realm of the sphere which can easily move in all directions. Even a seemingly linear movement such as walking is built from circles and the spirals and undulations they can create. By entering into the subtle movement of circles we can uncover our limitations and find a way to role them out of the way.

The Feldenkrais Method involves the in depth study of how we initiate and carry out our actions. By investigating how various parts of our self participate in organizing a movement, we learn how to move our whole self with greater harmony. Moshe Feldenkrais, the developer of the method, noted that in most all of our actions there are ways we work against ourselves unconsciously.

We have many habits in our movement that make them inefficient and sometimes cause us pain or a sense of stiffness and limitation. Through the method we become aware of our subtle habits and realize through our movement explorations that we have other non-habitual options. We discover a greater sense of ease, efficiency and grace in our movement and uncover a sense of freedom and creativity as well.

Circles are one of the key themes in the work of Moshe Feldenkrais. Because circles intertwine through our whole self, they allow us to track connections that can often surprise ourselves.

Those new to the Feldenkrais method will find a clear introduction to the method and feel its benefits. The move experienced mover will find an understanding of how Feldenkrais lessons are constructed, and be able to explore the many layers of integration possible surrounding a single theme.

The week following the workshop there is going to be a retreat in the mountains that explores how the insights and skills of the Feldenkrais method can be applied to massage and other bodywork modalities.

The workshop is intensive: Saturday and Sunday 10:00 – 18:00.

Price 135 EUR To book a place the deposit of 45 EUR must be payed in advance.
